Appointment of Jean-Baptiste Bachelerie as Director General of Saipol

Jean-Baptiste Bachelerie (43 y.o.) is appointed Director General of Saipol.

He will notably be responsible for defining the strategic plan for Saipol, the aim being to optimise its operational performance and drive its growth in new markets, working in coordination with the Avril group.

During the past twenty years, Bachelerie has gained considerable experience in the management of industrial activities with various firms, both in France and other countries.

He started his career with Nestlé in Africa and then in France, before joining the consultancy firm McKinsey in the UK as an associate specialised in Lean Management consulting.

He then occupied several posts as a plant general manager, Industrial Director and Operations Director with Lactalis and then Danone, in France and in South Africa.
Before joining Avril at the beginning of this year, he was Director of Operations, Trading Execution and Operational Risks with the Louis Dreyfus Commodities Group, responsible for driving development in the Middle East and Africa region.

Jean-Baptiste Bachelerie qualified from AgroParisTech (ENSIA) in France.

As a central component in Avril's Oilseeds Division, Saipol produces and sells in France both refined vegetable oils for human consumption, protein-rich oilseed meals for livestock feeds, biodiesel under the Diester® brand, 8% of which is now added to the diesel fuel used by diesel vehicles in France, and vegetable glycerine which has numerous industrial applications.
