A strategy that creates value
Since its creation at the initiative of the agricultural world, Avril has been working for the development of the vegetable oil and protein sector. The Group’s strategy serves this mission: by reinvesting its results in the sector, Avril creates value for all players from upstream to downstream.
Avril’s strategy is twofold: economic and financial performance, and a sustainable development approach. Avril’s progress in achieving its CSR ambitions is measured each year using the SPRING indicator, structured around 5 pillars and 25 key objectives.
2030 AMBITION: TO BECOME THE LEADER IN PLANT PROCESSING
In line with the priorities of the Avril 2023 strategic plan, the Group has chosen to accelerate its development and strengthen its positions on markets linked to its historic areas of know-how. Its new ambition, announced in 2021, is to become the leader in plant processing solutions for the food, agricultural and environmental transitions, and its purpose is: Serving the Earth.
To reach this target, Avril is focusing on four markets with high growth potential:

SPRING is an index that measures the progress of our CSR approach each year.
Based on 5 pillars, SPRING represents Avril’s main sustainable development challenges.
The overall score provides an overview of 25 CSR indicators derives from the 5 pillars.
For its second year of implementation, SPRING achieved a score of 2,1.
A result in line with our objective of progressing by one point per year to reach 5 out of 5 in 2023.

Pillar 1 : Our value chain
SPRING KPI: Number of qualified projects contributing to agricultural transition supported by the Avril group.
Indicator 2020 value: 6 projects supported by Sofiprotéol (6 projects in 2019).

Pillar 2 : Our products and services
SPRING KPI: Share of livestock units audited according to our internal livestock management guidelines.
Indicator 2020 value: 85.3% (84% in 2019).
Objective exceeded.
Pillar 3: Our planet
SPRING KPI: Ratio between the consumption of energy from renewable sources and total energy consumption.
Indicator 2020 value: 25.7% (25% in 2019).
Objective achieved.
Pillar 4: Our people
SPRING KPI: Percentage of women among the Group’s top managers (20%)
Indicator 2020 value: 24.8% (20% in 2019).
Objective exceeded.
Pillar 5: Our stakeholders
SPRING KPI: Organisation of “Avril Communities” visits to strengthen local ties between Avril industrial sites and their territories.
